Day 04 Santiago - Puerto Montt - Puerto Varas

Day 05 Puerto Varas
Breakfast. City tour of Puerto Montt, visiting the Plaza de Armas (main square) and the Cathedral. You will be taken to the Mirador (viewing platform) for a view of the Reloncaví Estuary and the city before continuing to Pelluco Beach. After crossing the Chinquihue district we will visit Angelmó, a typical fishing cove renowned for its seafood. There is also an attractive street market with local handicrafts in wool and reed.

Day 06 Puerto Varas Excursion Frutillar and Lavanda té
Breakfast. Half day excursion to Frutillar, surroundings will show us the life of 19th century German settlers on the western shore of Lake Llanquihue. A visit to the town of Llanquihue and its industries, Frutillar with its old houses and gardens and its Museum of German Settlement will give us a glimpse of the pioneers' lifestyle. Finally, in Puerto Octay, we'll learn about its importance as a port and crossroad for the arrival and departure of goods. During the excursion we will have time for lunch and to taste wild boar meat, as well as delicious German dishes.

Day 07 Puerto Varas
Breakfast. Full-day excursion to Ancud. We'll take the highway to Pargua where a 30-minute ferry crossing will take us to the Island of Chiloé. Upon arrival, we'll visit the church of Chacao and enjoy a panoramic view of the bay and surroundings from Quempillén lookout point before continuing on to the town of Ancud. We'll visit its Fort San Antonio, the Regional Museum of Ancud and typical market, and of course, we'll have some free time to stroll around town. Then we head off to see the penguin colonies at Puñiguil, located 30 km from Ancud.
