Program visiting Colchagua Valley with Santa Cruz Hotel

VC150 WINE TOUR “Program “Two Valleys” (in one day tour)

Passengers must show up on meeting point chosen:
07.50 am. Mall Parque Arauco, Kennedy Av. 5413, in front of Turistik office. Departure 8 am.
08.00 am. Galerias Hotel, San Antonio St. 65, Santiago downtown, departure
08.30 am Departure of shuttle buses from Santiago to San Fernando, 140 km to the south.
10.30 am. including 3 wine tastings accompanied
by cheese, fruits, etc . Includes folklore singer and English guide.
12:15 pm. Arrival to Santa Cruz: Welcome tourists with an “Esquinazo” (typical national Chilean
dance “Cueca”)
01:00 pm. Colchagua Valley Vineyard visit, including a tour to the wine cellars and 2 reserve
wine tastings.
Menu lunch at the vineyard.
05:00 pm. Cachapoal Valley Vineyard visit, including a tour to the wine cellars and 2 premium
wine tastings.
08:00 pm. Santiago arrival.

“Program Colchagua Valley Vineyard”

Colchagua Wine Tour description

The tour starts with a transfer, at 8:15am from Santiago to San Fernando (140Km. - 87 miles to the south). Once there, we will board the Tren del Vino (1:30am) on a 20 minute ride to the Paniahue Station in Santa Cruz along the main vineyards of the Colchagua valley. During the ride, we will enjoy an exquisite wine* tasting of red and white wines accompanied by a selection of assorted cheeses while listening to a typical Chilean folk musician. There will also be a bilingual Spanish/English narration of the trip. From Santa Cruz station – where guests are welcomed by a young folk music group – we will go directly on a visit to a vineyard in the valley (according to program) where we will go deeper in the fascinating world of wine, learning about its making and some tasting techniques at the very source. A typical chilean lunch will then be served at the same place. After lunch we will visit the Colchagua Museum which is one of the largest private collections of a wide variety of exhibits in Latin America . The return to Santiago is programmed at 5:30 by bus and we will arrive at 8:00 pm. in the city.


Santa Cruz Plaza Hotel , is located in the city of Santa Cruz, Colchagua's region. This zone is mainly characterized by its wine industry. The Hotel is located across the main square of Santa Cruz, sharing the park with the Convention Center and the Colchagua Museum. It is near to the vineyards that represent the Wine Route of the Colchagua Valley, main tourist attraction in this region. Its surroundings are an example of the varied geography found in the Region, the typical Chilean countryside, lakes, rivers and beaches.

Day 01 Santiago - Santa Cruz
08.15am. Santiago we take the Pan-American Highway and drive south through the central valley in the direction of the city of Santa Cruz in the Colchagua valley. The Colchagua valley is a broad valley well known for its excellent grape-growing soil. Before reaching the small city of Santa Cruz, we pass through several small country villages surrounded by vineyards and get a feeling of the more traditional way of live. Santo Cruz is in the heart of the Colchagua valley, and is a quiet and provincial city. Its nice central square is adorned by huge palm trees. Your colonial-style adobe hotel is just off the square. There is a pool, a wine-tasting area, beautiful inner gardens, and balconies off every room. In the afternoon we have time to visit the Colchagua museum, which is around the corner from the hotel. It is the biggest private collection in Chile, exhibiting paleon- tological, archeological, pre- Colombian and colonial Spanish artifacts.
